Spring Soirée a Smashing Success!
On Saturday, March 22nd, the Beaverton Community Band held their inaugural Small Ensembles Spring Soirée at the Beaverton City Library. There were eight chamber ensembles total, one clarinet trio, a tuba/trombone duo, a large brass ensemble, a flute quartet, a saxophone Sextet, a clarinet quartet, a bassoon/string bass duo, and a percussion ensemble. Each of the eight chamber ensembles was tasked with putting on a short performance within 12-15 minutes. For many band members, this was their first time playing in a chamber setting!
Thanks to everyone who came out to Beaverton City Library for a fantastic and varied program of chamber music! We are taking a week off for Spring Break and will resume rehearsals next week for our Spring Concert on June 8th at Jesuit High School. Our next playout performance will be on May 3rd at Beaverton Farmers Market. Mark your calendars!
